Chinese Workers Museum is located in Pi Cun Village, near Beijings capital airport. This museum tells us a story of hard work put by all the migrant labors in China. The founder and curator is Mr. Sun Heng one of the former migrant laborers. There is a big red banner at the entrance of the Chinese Workers Museum. The banner says “Respect for labor and a laborer is a basic value of our country” which is the main attraction for the visitors. Today the Chinese and American corporations have helped and paid by raising funds of about 50 millions.
The story:
Chinese Workers Museum was started by him in a former factory’s site in a corner of Picun a leather village, in a single storey houses which became shelter for around 10000 migrants. This has been opened on 1st May this year and has mostly attracted the visitors from journalist background and migrant workers. Approximately over 1000 visitors have visited this museum so far.
Honestly Picun is a small place and is not very attractive to pull visitors or tourists. The environment is full of chemical’s smell and people here are very simple and on the poverty line. Still Sun has a hope and tries his best to publicize his project. Sun acknowledges that he has got a help from the government for Chinese Workers Museum.
